Weddings at City Hall Dublin

You cannot imagine a better wedding venue than City Hall in Dublin. The building itself is just stunning ! It was built between 1769 and 1779, it was originally used as financial centre by merchants of Dublin. Dublin City Hall is very popular among foreign visitors. It is centrally located just a few minutes walk from Dublin Temple Bar and the entrance is free.

As a Dublin wedding photographer I have captured many weddings at City Hall Dublin over the past decade. Many couples arrived from overseas and they were all amazed how beautiful the building was! The Rotunda "wowes" everybody, it's absolutely stunning ! The venue itself is very spacious and It's also ideal for after ceremony champagne reception and speeches.

The acoustics in the building  is unbelievable, so if you are a fan of great music and want to have live musicians during your ceremony you couldn't choose a better wedding venue in Dublin.

Dublin City Hall is fantastic to host small intimate ceremonies as well as big wedding parties with more than 200 people.

The staff is always very friendly and attentive. They love hosting weddings at City Hall Dublin !

There is many pros to have your wedding there and honestly I cannot think about any cons, not even one! If you dream about a city wedding the venue is perfect for you. It's definitely worth paying a bit extra to have your ceremony at Dublin City Hall. The interior itself is so beautiful that you don't need to worry about too many extra details. It always looks very elegant.

You can have your civil ceremony up there but many couples choose slightly longer and more personal humanist or spiritual wedding ceremonies. You can find many fantastic celebrants in Dublin. I'm going to share a couple of links with you in a minute.

So if you still hesitate and haven't chosen your Dublin wedding venue yet I highly recommend to consider getting married at Dublin City Hall. Due to its central location it's very easy to organise your big day up there. Everything, all pubs, restaurants, photography locations, main tourist attractions are within the walking distance from the venue. The grooms usually choose the Oak Pub which is just opposite Dublin City Hall before heading to the ceremony to have their last pint of Guinness as bachelors. Note- the first pint of Guinness as a married couple will be at The Stag's Head on the way to the dinner reception ! :) If you ask me about the best reception place after your wedding at Dublin City Hall I'd choose Fallon & Byrne - OMG their cake table !!!- Dublin Westin Hotel or Dublin Morrison Hotel. All 3 venues are within a short walking distance from Dublin City Hall and all the guests can go together which is so much fun !

If you have any questions, please drop me a line, if you want to book professional & fun reportage style wedding photography in Dublin I'll be very happy to help you with that as well.
